Ten years ago the world was shaken. On 11 September 2001, United States became the center of the news for one of the most tragic events of the century.
The terrorist attack on the Twin Towers in New York ended with the lives of more than 3,000 people and caused more than 6,000 wounded. This event was not only one of the worst moments experienced in U.S. History, but it was also the precedent of a long and difficult war in Afghanistan.
But today is not a day to talk about war and political conflict. Today is a day to remember and honor all who died exactly ten years ago. Today is a day to mourn the missing people and to thank everyone who responded to the call of hundreds of wounded and went to their aid.
It is usually the worst and toughest moments when it appears more human kindness and the 9 / 11 was an example of those moments. For that reason today we must remember the firefighters, police, emergency services and also the citizens who helped victims who lived through the attacks.
Today is a day of reflection and peace. And while the anger and pain appear there to think about the future and believe that a better world is possible. Now is the time to honor all the people who lived in first person how the world shook.
